Meet the DANCERS...

I thank God for this day! It's Sunday.....
A pose before the worship this morning!
I didn't join the dance team again today. got to join the music team for the worship. it's a blessing to be together with the Thai Team in leading the worship. To God be the glory!

It has been always a blessing too to have Gene and Yvonne in the dance team for without them, there will be only 3 dancers for the tambourine, specially that Faith is out of town again today for her some "monkey business"..lol...am just kidding! she's with her students today in Phuket for the Debate Competition. God bless you sis! Don't forget our "PASALUBONG"...hehehh

Can't share with some patterns of the tambourine with video this time. just been busy with the practice and for the costumes for the dance for the anniversary of the church on Sunday...

i think i just want to introduce the members of dance team this time..:) lol nothing to say anymore. since im always talking about these people, so just allow me to describe them in my simple way of knowing them. Here they are.

start with,
Genebie Faith R. Saratorio-Sajolan
The Beautiful Mommy Gene. She's the sweettie wife of our drummer Joseph and a loving mom of a very intelligent and handsome boy Hyzyd. Aside from an ESL (English as a Second Language) Teacher here in Thailand, she's also an active blogger whom i also look up here in the world of blogging.

Yvonne Xyzelle Saratorio
Gorgeous Yvonne! She is the sister of Gene. She's still a college student taking up International Business Economics here in Hat Yai. A very soft spoken girl...

Yvonne & Gene
then here comes,
Rolie Jane Lovely P. Tecson

Lovely Lovely! The very jolly and witty gurlly..:) she always makes us laugh. everyone would wonder when she is quiet..:)lol.. but truly, she is a dancer and a worship leader. An ESL Teacher here in Thailand.
Karisse Mae P. Jandayan
Pretty Karisse! the demure gal of the group. i mean the most demure..hahah..with her very modest actions and beauty, you could see a typical Filipina woman. An ESL teacher here in Thailand.

Lovely & Karisse- black & white effect :)

and meet MISS lady in red.....
Faith T. Alegarme
The Stunning FAITH! with her bloody red dress..she wasn't here this morning, that's why i just stole one of her beautiful pics from her album and cropped it..lol....she is the what we call .... "propesyonal" hehehehe.... a very sweet and thoughtful girl. With her entertaining punch lines, she makes the group chuckles. A talented worship leader and musician. An ESL Teacher here in Thailand.

and my Sister,
GC Joy M. Baon
The Amiable JOY! mmmh...am not that sure though..lol..we're three sisters in the family, and i think she is the most friendly and sociable..Now, whether i like it or not, I have to admit she is smarter than me. she got higher score in the latest exam (TOIEC) that we took! :)hahah..and ok, i surrender, she's the most beautiful among the 3 roses...and she's better in dancing. Sorry for comparing.:) but that's true ...She's a Registered Nurse but she is an ESL Teacher here in Thailand temporarily... I HOPE!

and me,
Grace M. Baon
Simply Gracious! a simple creature of God. I love to sing, dance and play some musical instruments. am not good in talking, i prefer to be quiet mostly in the group except if i need to talk or no one won't talk..lol..Am a teacher since then and forever i guess..:) this is my calling. I thank God for the gifts that He bestowed upon me. I live for HIS glory!
Grace & Joy
We the DANCERS, solemnly offer our talents in dancing to Him who sits on the throne, Who was and Who is to come...JESUS!

before i end, let me introduce to you
Renel D. Cabilan
Dazzling Ate REN! A very kindhearted and loving woman. She's not perfect as she always says, but for us, being with her is a blessing. Behind all these pics and videos  that we have is her very supportive and very caring personality. An ESL Teacher as well.......Thanks ate ren again and again...:)

For all You've Done with the "Sisters Act"

It was our turn to lead the worship in the church this morning-the Filipino Team. Lovely was the worship leader, Faith was the back up singer, and I played the bass guitar with Bjoy for the guitar and Joseph for the drums. It was only Joy and Karisse who were left to play the tambourine, good thing that Gene (the wife of our drummer, Joseph) and Yvonne (sister of Gene)  joined the group. So glad to see them practicing the dance and decided to join the group in playing the tambourine during the worship.
Yvonne and Gene during the practice last Saturday night- "Sisters Act"

Here are some poses before the worship this morning.

Dance: Trading My Sorrows (Thai lyrics)

Trading My Sorrows
Darrell Evans

I'm trading my sorrow
I'm trading my shame
I'm laying it down for the joy of the Lord

I'm trading my sickness
I'm trading my pain
I'm laying it down for the joy of the Lord

Chorus:
And we say yes Lord yes Lord yes yes Lord
Yes Lord yes Lord yes yes Lord
Yes Lord yes Lord yes yes Lord Amen

I'm pressed but not crushed persecuted not abandoned
Struck down but not destroyed
I'm blessed beyond the curse for his promise will endure
And his joy's gonna be my strength

Though the sorrow may last for the night
His joy comes with the morning.

I heard this song a lot since then and sang this many times. But humanly speaking when you are driving on a bumpy road or sailing in a stormy ocean of life, you will find it so difficult to open your mouth and sing this song specially when you are weak. It takes a leap of FAITH to sing this by heart.

But if we focus our mind to our Great God above and not on the circumstances in front of us, indeed we can have the strength to sing and praise His name in the midst of our adversaries.

As the word of God in James 1:2-4 says,
My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.(NKJV)

Thank You Lord for your WORD!
-------------

And here's the dance for this song "Trading My Sorrows". Since most of the members of the church are Thais, we prefer to dance this song with Thai lyrics.

We use the following patterns in this dance:
-intro
-War (2x)
-Dancing (2x)
-War (2x)
-Dancing (2x)
-The Way (2x)
-Charity (2x)
-War (2x)
-Dancing(2x)
-Declaration (2x)
-Acts(2x)
-The Way(2x)
- Mighty One(2x)
-Choreograph ( turning and kneeling part)
-War(2x)
-Dancing(2x)
-The Way(2x)
-Charity(2x)
-Micah(2x)
-Gospel (2x)
The end

As you could see the patterns are always repeated because we only used the patterns that we had shared to you in my previous post here. Except for the Micah, Charity and the Gospel i think..We just have more formation this time.

There are a lot of mistakes though, sorry for that again..LOL
Can't avoid the slip-up when you practice only a night before the final performance.(palusot system :).lol..)

From the left: Pluem, Lovely, Grace(me), Faith, Karisse, Joy & Wann
This was taken before we dance this song in the church this morning.

And here's the demure pose of the gals..:)

God bless!

Tambourine Dance Tutorial: 7 Patterns

As what i had mentioned in my previous post here, i don't have any formal training for the tambourine dancing. I didn't have training from Book 1 to Book #...i wish i had. We learn the patterns from our friends who shared them to us, from just observing the others on how they execute the patterns, and most of the time we made our own.

Here are some of the tambourine patterns that we know. It might not be the same as what you knew, sorry for that..we just want to share these to others specially to those who want to learn.

1. War

2. Dancing

3. The Way

4. Declaration

5.  Mighty One

6. Arise

7. Acts

These are the patterns that we shared to the Thai dancers last Saturday. We are thinking of using these patterns as we dance "Trading my Sorrows" by Darrell Evans maybe next Sunday.

So here's the intro part for that...

God bless!

ohhhh...........After the practice, here's Lovely the "kikay" in the group..:) sorry to those who can't understand. we're speaking bisayan here, our very own dialect..

Thank You Lord for the joy together with these friends around me, specially this time. Thanks pipz...

Most Embarassing Moment in Dancing

When I was still 14 or 15 years old, I couldn't forget that moment that I cried for almost the whole night and even didn't show my face on the next day to any one. It was during the National Youth Camp of ECOFI (Evangelical Christian Outreach Foundation, Inc.) in Davao City, when I was one of the dancers from our District who joined in the Interpretative Dance Competition. At that night, i think there were about 10 groups who were very nervous yet very excited while waiting for their time to be on stage. Different styles and colorful costumes worn by the dancers made that night more fascinating. I couldn't help myself at that time in comparing our costumes to the others...honestly, i was envious at that moment, wishing to have a nice one too.:( I could recall I wore a  long sleeve white shirt which was bought from the "second-hand store" and an orange-black stripe-skirt which was borrowed from our neighbor. Don't get me wrong, i love to wear 2nd-hand clothes..lol,,,it's just that, i felt that our costumes weren't that good enough compared to the others. I know, my heart at that time wasn't right.

When it was our turn to be on stage, I was so tensed. At the middle of our dance, I was wondering why were the audience so noisy and were laughing. I thought they just like our dance. Until we reached to the last part of the dance, I was so uneasy and got suspicious on the commotion of the audience. Alas, the dance was over! And when we were out of the stage, I asked the other dancers why were the people laughing??? And even them they were laughing too until someone said, "Hey, YOUR ARMPIT WAS SEEN!" huh????I said to myself, "i'm wearing a long sleeve white shirt how come my armpit was seen?" mmmh...then I looked at my armpit then tears started to fall down from my eyes. I cried a lot co'z of embarrassment. My shirt was torn up while I was dancing in front of almost a thousand young people.

From that point, i felt so dishearten. I got self pity. So embarrassed... I thought I won't dance again.
But, I thank God for He never let me fall to that dread. I was able to recover and had my self-esteem back by His mercy.

I had a lot of embarrassment that I experienced in the world of dancing and there might be more on the road, but i would still say ...I WILL NEVER STOP DANCING....never stop dancing for my GOD...for HIS GLORY!

A prayer:
" Lord, check our hearts always when we dance. May your name always be lifted up as we move our feet, as we raise our hands and as we offer our bodies as a living sacrifice to you. Amen."

by the way, before I forget
..........because of that incident of embarrassment, "my mother" said that we will try our best to have new costumes every time we will have the National Youth Convention in Davao City. And Praise God for His provision, since then, we always have new costumes for the dance every year.
Am I right DISTRICT 13? .......:))

Latest costume for the Tambourine Dance - taken last April 2012, NYC in Davao City
Karen, Jing, Karisse, Kat, Sam, Pipoy
i miss the days when i was still like them joining the Youth Camp
Karrise was still here..:)
Karrise, Pipoy, Jing(my sister), Sam( Faith's Sister), & Katriz... (i wonder where's Karen?)..

:) Praise be unto the LORD!

Dance for the Desert Song w/ Thai Lyrics

Last Saturday, we didn't create any other dances yet. Instead, the group had decided to dance again the "Desert Song"..but..but...but.. the song was in Thai Version now,,:) I like to hear songs in English that I know and are translated in the other languages, just like in Thai language which is very difficult for me yet interesting and very unique.

And guess what? we're now 7! Hope to be 9 this coming Saturday. Thanks to the other 2 Thai dancers, Wan & Pluem, who tried their best and devoted their time in practicing the dance. And of course, to the "Power-PoP-Corn" as they have said it as a joke for the name of the team.....but i think it's right? you're like pop-corn popping!!!...LOL.. Thanks guys for being their even if you didn't have enough sleep a night before because of "somethin", even if someone there had slept 4 A.M. already (let's keep her name "Lovely" as a secret)..:) thanks for your willingness and endurance during the practice!

Here's a glimpse of the "Saturday Practice" when everybody was so tired and sleepy yet, had tried to move their feet while closing their eyes???... *_*

oh yah, I forgot to tell you, the internet connection didn't cooperate with us during the practice (I think it was tired too..lol) so we didn't use the Thai Version of the song here..

And here's the video of the dance during the Sunday Worship..:)

... it wasn't the full dance though..it was cut coz of a lot of "advertisement" in the first part.lol...
Thanks to "Madam Principal" I mean.... Ate Ren with her Ipad...:))-the "videogirlpher" for going with us now just to take the video.

God bless you all guys for the efforts!

...................

Here's the video of this song with lyrics by the hillsongs! :)))) someone has asked this...so here it is...
